P16WEB v1.03

The original version supplied with the Microchip PICDEM.net kit. Only compatible with early versions of the CCS compiler - tested using PCM v2.693. The original name for this product in the 1st edition book can not be used for copyright reasons.

P16WEB v1.14

Upgrade for v1.03 to add the following features:

• Source code compatibility with both Hitech PICC v7.86 and CCS PCM v2.693 compilers
• Support for PIC18xxx devices (Hitech PICC18 v8.01 PL1)
• UDP (connectionless datagram) interface

P16WEB v1.57

Upgrade for v1.03 or v1.14 to add the following features:

• Support for a wider range of compilers: tested using Hitech PICC v7.86 PL4 and PICC18 v8.11, CCS PCM & PCH v3.059

• Improved buffering scheme

P16WEB v2.02

P18WEB v2.17

The first release of the ChipWeb Wireless 802.11b source files; this is a complete project, not an upgrade.

• IEEE 802.11b WLAN driver for Intersil PRISM chipset
• Improved support for dynamic HTML variables (long variable names) and form variables
• Network device selection, so the TCP/IP stack can drive both Ethernet & wireless interfaces
• Wireless drivers can be disabled, so software will run on PICDEM.net
• PIC18xxx only; PIC16xxx not supported
• Compatible with recent CCS compilers, tested with PCH v3.110
• Now compatible with HiTech PICC18 v8.20 PL2, see the software notes

P18WEB v2.21

The second release of the ChipWeb Wireless 802.11b source files; it is available as a complete project, or an upgrade from v2.17. Versions earlier than v2.17 can not be upgraded; the complete project must be purchased.

The new features are:

• Support for both CCS and Hi-Tech compilers
• TCP and UDP client support
• Sample applications: UDP time client, POP3 and SMTP email clients
• PRISM power management to reduce power consumption
• Accomodates the peculiarities of PICC18 V8.20 PL3 and PL4

P18WEB v2.61

P18WEB v2.62

For the ER25 only. Supports the WLAN card power-down feature.

ER22 customers should use v2.61 instead.
